Overview

The JEROME Fabric is an open source alternative to the Jini trapped in the SCSL bottle.

It is not designed to be an exact reimplementation of Jini, but if Sun ever does release Jini under a much less stringent licence, JEROME Fabric could be dropped in favor of Jini fairly easily.

JEROME Fabric is much lighter than Jini, and does not support all of the functionality; however, it does offer the same basic capabilities of service discovery and remote method invocation.
